And I’ll Bet The Sweeps On That!

 

Overfishing is one of the greatest threats to our oceans today!  Ocean Wise, a Vancouver, Canada conservation program estimates that 90% of all large predatory fish are gone!

This fabulous non-profit association works with restaurants, markets, food services and suppliers to help them and consumers make environmentally conscious seafood choices.

Two of their 4 criteria for calling a fish sustainable includes how abundant and resilient the species are and how the species is harvested in relation to the marine/aquatic habitat and the negative impact that harvest has on other species.

While eating fish may be the healthy option, it isn’t always the right environmental choice.
