And I’ll Bet The Sweeps On That!  Are Superfoods Essential?

 

It seems like every day a new “superfood” hits store shelves.  These foods come from around the world and claim to have the power to optimize your health.  Cacao nibs, coconut oil, goji berries, acai are a few common examples.

 

While I don’t doubt these foods contain valuable benefits and nutrients – I do not believe they are essential in maintaining vitality.  A basic diet containing plenty of vegetables, some local fruit, quality proteins and fats is really all the body needs.

 

Harvesting so called super foods from around the world can be hard on the pocket book, when money could be much better spent on local and organic produce, pasture raised beef, chicken and wild game and the fats from the latter sources.

 

Start with the basics and your health will surely improve without the use of the newest trending super food.
