Vignette 3 — All You Need Is Love

To me love is a very big deal, I like to feel love, give love and be loved.  I see the effects love can have on a person’s mood and how it can change almost every aspect of a person’s outlook on life.

Love is deep, it transcends time and is eternal.  The feeling that love creates is infinite and forever and should be unconditional, which is a concept I encourage everyone to practice.  It means that your love is not based on conditions.

Love is a feeling you get from others and a feeling you give to others.  We love things and people for different reasons and often because the feeling of love that we get from those things elicits emotions of security and confidence and peace in our soul.  For example, the unconditional love of a mother to her children is so strong and should give that child a sense of peace in the world.  That sense of love should help them understand that they are never alone and can conquer any obstacle.  Love also makes you strong and happy, like the love you get from a lifelong partner.  When you are in a committed relationship you have a partner, a person who also loves you without condition and so you feel completely understood and respected.  The endorphins released when a person feels loved and secure help to make their immune system strong and helps them heal physically.  Being loved by giving and receiving it unconditionally is another important step toward reaching optimal health.

Before we can love anything without condition, we have to learn to truly and unconditionally love ourselves.  Love everything about yourself from your weaknesses as well as your strengths.  When we are hard on ourselves for what we consider our shortcomings, we are not in line with our soul’s purpose.  As long as every decision we make is based on a rational and logical thought process we will always feel love toward yourself and others.  A few personal goals I set for myself include:

  1. Never act out of spite.
  2. Wait 24 hours to react to a situation that upsets you.
  3. Think before you speak.
  4. Always act in the best interest of all parties.

If you follow these criteria your actions and reactions will always be in line with serving a higher purpose.  We are designed with divine perfection in mind.  Everything about you is intentional and is present to serve a greater purpose.  Loving oneself and others unconditionally is in harmony with obtaining and maintaining good solid health.
