THIS WEEK – THE REVERIE:

Chapeau’s Rule

Yes a celebration of all things millinery.  Beret, fez, kepi, bowler, tam o’ shanter, homburg, trilby, derby, slouch, stetson, cap, panama, boater, cloche, pillbox, stovepipe, biretta, pith, bonnet, toque and many more.

Hollywood has given us some famous headgear.  One could itemise dozens and dozens — but here are some that are fairly iconic.

Audrey’s in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S

Julie Christie and Omar Sharif’s headgear in DOCTOR ZHIVAGO.

Gene Wilder’s top hat in Willie Wonka seemed to blend the Mad Hatter and a circus ringmaster.

And what better way to close than a combo of Bogart’s fedora and Ingrid’s picture hat from CASABLANCA.
