THIS WEEK – THE REVERIE

Who Are These Please?

Today’s questions.  (Answers at end.)

1. Who is this 15 year old hopeful destined to become a huge star? Photo taken late 1940 / 1941.

2.  Can you place these two stars on set?  As for the movie in question, it was a 1953 lightweight drama that featured June Allyson as a nightclub singer who becomes the main suspect in her wealthy uncle’s murder.  Also stars Van Johnson, Dorothy Dandridge and Charles Lane as well as these two…

3.  Easy one!  Who are these five legends?  Taken in 1984 at the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast

Esther Williams — candid on set.  The pic was taken in 1952 and she certainly was not getting married at the time so the wedding dress was obviously for a role she was playing.  MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID?  SKIRTS AHOY?

Cleopatra is backlit while on set .

Interesting how many candid shots reveal the personalities of the subjects.  Woody Allen (looking typically angsty) — Peter O’Toole (undoubtedly half pissed and jolly) and Peter Sellers (half comedian / half tragedian).

Ann-Margret and Elvis on set.

Veronica Lake and Sterling Hayden dine.

Natlaie Wood and Jimmy Dean — lunch on set of REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE….

McQueen, Newman, Streisand, Poitier.

Greg Peck and Ingrid Bergman enjoy ice-creams on set of SPELLBOUND — 1945.

Answers
